Thirteen years ago I was so tired of Windows XP taking so long to update I had to find an alternative.
A friend of mine downloaded Ubuntu Linux 10.04 and read the instructions on how to install Ubuntu from a USB thumb drive.
The next thing I knew I was running Ubuntu and Windows in a dual boot on my desktop and was really enjoying my new Linux operating system.
Since than I have not returned to Windows and have been able to find and use programs that were similar to Windows programs.
After 10 years of being in one of my online Linux groups I became a Linux Guru.
The truth is Linux does require a commitment. I had to invest time studying and helping folks fix their operating systems. Every time I helped someone else I learned more about Linux.
I'm still learning new things all the time and still enjoying Linux.
To date I still enjoy helping others to learn how to run Linux.
