How To Fix VLC When You Only Have Audio and No Video

VLC works pretty well on Linux however sometimes you can get a video that only plays the audio and no video.

Here, I'll show you how to fix that in the Setting in VLC.

Here's a screenshot of the Tools> Preferences in VLC:

What you will want to do is go to Tools> Preferences> Input-Codecs where it says Hardware-accelerated encoding is a drop down menu turn it from automatic to disabled also down farther is Damaged or incomplete AVI file select the drop down menu and change it to Always Fix and save.

Now the video should play after changing those settings.

Hope that helps.

Happy New Year 2022!
