After a fresh installation of the new Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon I was really impressed.
It's been 2 weeks since I performed a fresh installation of the new Linux Mint 21 with the Cinnamon desktop. It's been stable and very easy to run.
The Update Manager stays in the tray in the lower right hand corner of the panel and is easy to use. When updates are available a small red circle shows on top of the shield icon and it's as simple as clicking on the shield to launch the update manager.
Once the fresh installation was finished and I rebooted the system I made certain to take care of any updates right away.
After clicking Install Updates and typing in your password the Update Manager will install the updates and show you that your system is up-to-date.
There are a variety of backgrounds to choose from and are easily found by right clicking on the desktop to select what you'd like for your desktop background to be.
The Mint Cinnamon Menu is easy to use and looks good too.
When it's time to select your font, colors of your directories and other settings, the System Settings manager has a nice variety of colors to choose from.
The Software Center is where the real meat and potatoes are.
There you can select games, programs and all kinds of applications to install on your system.
Should you have more than one hard disk drive or nvme ssd installed on your computer the Disks Manager comes in handy.
The kernels that Linux Mint 21 has are found in the Update Manager. Just click on the shield in the lower right panel and once the update manager launches go to 'View" than drop down to "Linux Kernels"
The calculator that comes with Mint 21 is pretty basic. It looks a lot like the Gnome style calculator that I had when I was running Debian 11 Gnome.
Here's a picture of my Home directory. You can customize it to any colors that you want.
And that friends is a wrap on how the new Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon looks.
